Hair Extensions

Oh Baby Salon installs hand-tied and K-tip hair extensions in Bloomington, Illinois, and we carry Christian Michael hair. Every extension service begins with a consultation, so your stylist can assess your hair, match your color, and recommend the method and maintenance plan that fit you.

Hand-tied and K-tip methods

We install two methods. Hand-tied extensions are wefts installed in a row close to your scalp. K-tip extensions are small strands attached one at a time with a keratin tip. Each method asks something different of your hair.

Your stylist decides with you at your consultation, based on your hair's density, texture, and strength, and on how you like to wear it. Our post on how to choose your installer explains what to ask any salon before you book.

Christian Michael hair, matched to you

During your consultation we match the color to your own hair, and we blend the shade through your lengths. If you wear color or blonding, we plan both together.

Who installs extensions here

Shelly Streenz, our owner, is an extensions specialist, and Jordan Rahn specializes in extensions too. You can see the whole team on our team page.

What your consultation covers

The Extension Consultation on our Service Menu is where it starts. Your stylist looks at your hair, talks through the look you want, and explains the options. We cover how much hair you will need, how often you will come back, and what the upkeep involves. Read what happens at a hair extension consultation if you want to know how it goes before you come in.

Move-ups and home care

Extensions need a move-up appointment as your own hair grows. Your stylist will recommend a schedule for your hair. Our posts on move up timing and washing and sleeping with hand-tied extensions cover the daily care that keeps them looking good.
