Haircuts, Styling & Color

Every haircut, color, and styling visit at Oh Baby Salon in Bloomington starts with a consultation. We talk through your hair and your goals first, then we cut, color, or style. Every haircut includes a scalp massage, a blowout, and a styling lesson, so you can recreate the look at home.

What we do at the chair

We cut women's hair, men's hair, and bangs, and we color hair. Our menu groups color by what you want to change. Going lighter covers highlights, balayage, and blonding. Going darker covers root coverage, all over color, and lowlights. Gray coverage is for root touch-ups and gray blending. Reds and creative colors covers natural reds, coppers, and fashion shades.

For events, we also do blowouts and special occasion styling, both down styles and up styles. Brow tint and eyelash tint are on our menu too.

How a color visit works

We start by looking at your hair as it is today: its length, its texture, what color is already in it, and how it has handled past services. Then we match your goal to the right service. A little lighter, a lot lighter, and super light are different amounts of work, so we plan them differently. The same is true going the other way, from a little darker to dramatically darker.

If you want a big change, book a Color Consultation first. It gives your stylist time to look at your hair, hear what you want, and tell you honestly what can happen in one visit and what needs two. You can read more about that in our post on why hair color sometimes takes more than one visit.

Lived-in blonde and dimensional color

Trinity Weller specializes in blonding and lived-in color. To learn how the technique works, read our posts on what lived-in blonde is and how balayage gets you there, and how long balayage takes.

What a haircut visit includes

Your stylist begins with a conversation, then washes, cuts, checks the shape wet and dry, and finishes with a blowout. Before you leave, you get a styling lesson, so you see the tools and the steps that make the cut sit the way it did in the salon. Our walk-through of what happens at a haircut appointment goes step by step. Bringing an inspiration photo helps, and our post on why a stylist sometimes says not today to an inspo photo explains how we handle a look that needs more than one visit.

Keeping your color between visits

Color lasts longer when home care matches the service. We tell you which shampoo and routine suit your hair, and we sell the retail products we use on our shop page. If your blonde turns dull or gray, our post on purple shampoo and hard water explains what is going on.

Prices and times for every service are on our Service Menu.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at my first hair appointment?

Every visit starts with a consultation. Your stylist talks through your goals, looks at your hair type and condition, and recommends a cut, color, or treatment plan before any work begins.

Do you work with all hair types and textures?

Yes. Our team works with all hair types, textures, and lengths, from precision cuts to dimensional color and treatments.

Will you teach me how to style my hair at home?

Yes. Every haircut includes a styling lesson. We show you the tools and techniques we use in the salon so you can keep the look between visits.

How do I know which color service to book?

Match your goal to the Service Menu groups: going lighter, going darker, gray coverage, or reds and creative colors. If you are unsure, or you want a drastic change, book a Color Consultation and we will plan it with you.

Can I bring a photo of the look I want?

Yes, please do. A photo helps us see your goal. We will tell you honestly how close we can get in one visit and what a second visit would add.
